How else can a ball of grey basalt
outshine the stars?

Okay, so it’s more anorthosite than basalt on the surface of the moon, but anorthosite is harder to fit into a poem.  And this is the right way up from here (corrected for the inverting lens of the telescope that this photos was taken with in my driveway).
