In response to Eugi’s weekly prompt, “home, sweet home”:
Kick off your shoes,
hang up your coat.
and take off the face
that you’ve worn today
to meet all the
faces you’ve met.
Breathe out
the day’s disappointments.
Breathe in
the sweet smell of home.
Yes, home is where we can relax and just be ourselves. Excellent take on the prompt and thank you for joining in.
Thanks Eugi 🙂
You’re welcome!

Thank you! 🙂

This is so beautiful. Loved your lines about about “taking off the face” once you reach home. This is so true and I guess everyone does it. 🙂
Thank you so much Goutam! 🙂
I think we all have to, to some extent, even if just to be polite.
This blog is partly “home” for me as well, in that I can be a bit more “me” than who I am at work, and say things I wouldn’t say there.
True. Agree with you 100%. I share the same feeling as you. Putting on a fake smile while at work and calling up clients. Look forward so much to the weekends, when at home i can be really me, read books, write poetry or just simply watch the sky in its various hues. 🙂
Absolutely! I have to smile and be friendly to students even when I want to yell at them that “you wouldn’t have failed the quiz if you’d bothered coming to class and doing some study!”. It’s very draining.
Ha Ha…I can imagine the scene. 🙂
Beautiful poem! Home is where we can relax and just be our whole selves.
Thank you Cherie 🙂
You’re very welcome! 😊
