Obliquity

The earth has turned
her arse to the fire –
spring has returned
to us downunder.

I was explaining to one of my kids yesterday how the seasons work, and why it’s spring here when it’s autumn in the northern hemisphere, and that it’s all about the tilt of the Earth’s spin, called the obliquity:
